Members of the Arlington Green Party accounted for five of the eight delegates from Virginia at the recent Green Party National Convention, which took place in Chicago from July 10-13.
Audrey Clement, Kirit Mookerjee, Josh Ruebner, Tamar Yager and Tom Yager participated in the convention, which nominated former U.S. Rep. Cynthia McKinney, D-Ga., as its presidential candidate.
Green Party members are now collecting petition signatures to get the party on the presidential ballot in Virginia. At least 10,000 valid signatures must be garnered by Aug. 22.
