Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas is expected to request that the United Nations recognize Palestine as a full member of the organization in his scheduled speech tomorrow before the UN. If the UN accepts his proposal Palestine will become an independent state, receiving the full rights that other member countries enjoy. The new Palestinian state would be based on the borders Israel and Palestine shred before the Six Day War in 1967. We’ll hear two differing views on whether Abbas’ request is a good idea.

Our first guest is Ken Bandler, the Director of Communications for the American Jewish Committee. And on the second part of the program we’ll hear from Josh Ruebner who is the advocacy director of The US Campaign To End the Israeli Occupation.
